1. Have you done any upgrades?

In 2019 the Condo was modernized. The kitchen was redesigned and fitted with friendly white cabinets and opened up. The refrigerator bay was widened to fit a bigger, double-door refrigerator/freezer combination with an ice maker. The lights were replaced with LED and some sunken lights. The kitchen has lots of other amenities, such as a big dual oven, and self-cleaning stove, and a new dishwasher. The bathrooms were changed to a friendly white. All the doors and trimmings were accentuated in white. All the rooms received beautiful warm bamboo wood floors. The floors in the hallway and bathrooms were tiled. The popcorn ceilings were removed throughout and replaced with a flat white ceiling and crown molding was added everywhere. The lanai is tiled in a light green to match the turquoise of the ocean. This home now has blackout curtains throughout to give you a good night's sleep and to keep the sun out if needed.

2. What things do you like most about this home and living here?

The bright home has a cozy, roomy feel. You have great views of the ocean, Fort DeRussy Park, Diamond Head, and the Waikiki City Skyline. We have a great, helpful, friendly staff and the residents are pleasant and proud to live in Canterbury Place. The condo is very private with only 4 units per floor and virtually no common walls with other units. The location is very convenient, close to everything: the beach, Fort DeRussy Park to walk your dog (2 pets per unit are allowed), restaurants, bars, all kinds of entertainment, shopping, and it is still in the quieter part of Waikiki. The neighborhood is very safe and even as a woman you can safely walk the beach at midnight and every other time of the day by yourself.

3. What factors influenced your decision to move here?

The location is very walkable and with a bicycle, you rarely need a car. The Waikiki beach, great shopping, dining, and entertainment are all within 15-minute walking distance.

4. How is traffic in and around the neighborhood?

Getting in and out of Canterbury Place is very easy. The unit comes with 2 covered parking stalls, one is a large end unit parking stall, and is very easy to get in and out and is in high demand for rental.

5. How is your commute to work?

I work from home, so my commute is very easy. You have very easy access to and from Ala Moana Blvd and Kalakaua Ave and the H1 is maybe 7 min drive away.

6. What do you like best about your neighborhood?

We are in a great part of Waikiki and it is and feels like vacation land. On the ground level of our building, we have new top-class restaurants and coffee shops/ice cream parlors. Across the street are Fort DeRussy Park and the Hilton Hawaiian Village on the way to the beach. Also, some shops like ABC or the Food Pantry are right across the street or around the corner. My paddle club is right at the beach for 5 min. walk.

7. What are your favorite nearby restaurants and places to shop?

Too many restaurants to list, for shopping there is Walmart, K-Mart, Don Quixote, Food Pantry, Safeway, Foodland, Whole Foods, and of course Ala Moana Shopping Center, and many more, all within 2 miles.

8. Are there any events in your neighborhood that a new buyer would like to know about?

Yes, there are lots of parades, festivals on Kalakaua and Ala Moana Blvd, and of course lots of events in the Convention Center. I have a few minutes walks to my outrigger canoe paddle club and yes I paddle right on the ocean at Waikiki and can keep an eye on my Condo.

9. Are there any other attractive features about this home or neighborhood that we have not covered?

I cannot get enough of the views from the Condo. I really like the mix of people and the staff in our Condo. I regularly enjoy our pool and Jacuzzi.
